Nestled in the heart of Paradise Lakes your senses awake to the clean mountain air filled with the scent of cedar & spruce. Driving along the rambling Kendall Highway you feel as if you have just entered your own private park with numerous creeks and moss blanketed treescapes.
We have a beautiful room, with master bath, available for rent in our charming, farm-style home. You will NOT be disappointed by the accommodations; you will enjoy a pillow-top queen four-poster bed with luxurious golden linens in the summer and cozy flannel in the winter with a down comforter fit for royalty. The room is done with rich tasteful tones throughout, with touches of our proud Scottish heritage and Victorian antiques. Other features include stereo flat-screen color television with Satellite TV, microwave and honor system snacks in your own mini fridge. Please give us a list of special foods that would make your stay enjoyable (SORRY, NO KITCHEN). There will be a pitcher of fresh filtered water daily. We are a quiet, middle-aged couple who maintain a clean, comfortable, smoke-free, gated and secure home (Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets or smokers). We can also offer local phone service as well as broadband access for your laptop so you can access your email or the Internet to explore local attractions, events and activities.
We are conveniently located just off the spectacular Mount Baker Scenic Byway in a beautifully wooded area about 15 minutes from the Sumas, Washington border crossing into Abbottsford, B.C.
Mount Baker is an enchanting 30 minute drive, so if you're a skier or snowboarder and would like to visit the birthplace of snowboarding, you'll be in the right place. Wildlife, hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, eagle habitats, kayaking, boating, river rafting, fishing, off-road areas and snow parks, recreation areas, lakes and so much more, surround us. The North Cascades Highway and the Skagit River Bald Eagle wintering grounds are just a short, scenic drive south. The San Juan Island Archipelago is less than an hour away. Countless delightful restaurants and eclectic shops await you both locally and in downtown Bellingham where you’ll also find the historic Fairhaven District. Bring your camera and plan on staying at least a couple of days. You’ll need them! You're stay will be unforgettable!

From I-5 in Bellingham (35 min.):
Take exit 255 (Sunset/Mt. Baker) Travel east on Mount Baker Scenic Byway 22.9 miles Veer left onto Kendall Hwy 547 North/Sumas, then left at stop sign (Just before M.P.23) Travel north on Hwy 547 for approximately 3 miles Turn right onto Shamrock Turn left onto Golden Valley Drive Suite Paradise is 3 blocks down on the corner of Willow Place
From Sumas border crossing (15 min.):
Travel south on Cherry Street for .5 mile Turn left (east) onto Front St./Hwy 547 Follow Hwy 547 approximately 9.8 miles Turn left onto Shamrock Turn left onto Golden Valley Drive Suite Paradise is 3 blocks down on the corner of Willow Place
RATES:
Winter rates (December 30 - April 15). Our rates are a modest $59 per night, single or double occupancy for a minimum 2 NIGHT STAY. Summer Rates (April 16 - December 14) Our rates are still a modest $69 a night.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
14 days or more prior to first night of reservation: 90% refund 7 to 13 days prior to first night of reservation: 60% refund Less than one week prior to first night of reservation: 0% refund
PAYMENTS:
PayPal & Cash (US currency) . Sorry, no checks at this time. Your credit card will hold the room. For long term stays, payment is due at the end of each week for the following week.
Please note: Reservations are not confirmed until credit card number is recieved. Since We are a private party and not a regular business we can only accept credit card payments through PayPal. We will send a payment requests to your email and will hold it for 24 hours only to wait for payment.
WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR:
1 bedroom (coffee maker), full bath, sitting room (mini-fridge, microwave & library), access to washer/dryer, free Wi-Fi, 1 free movie rental. Free local calls. Use of our FRONT yard.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please do not remove anything from our premises when you leave.
Other Information: If you need a stereo, etc... let us know in advanced so we can have it set up for you. There may be a small fee depending on what it is you need ($1.00 a day for most).
